DESCRIPTION: This Mac-based session will demonstrate ways to help students research and gather information using the Internet as well as collecting and managing digital data as they prepare to do a project. Help students move beyond cutting and pasting large amounts of Internet content and create a project workflow from the initial idea through a final project.

DESCRIPTION: iPad is transforming the way we teach and learn. How do you move beyond drill and practice apps to making the iPad a valuable productivity tool for students? We will look at workflow options and key productivity apps and take a look at what an iPad classroom can look like.

TITLE: iTunes & iTunes U Digital Content Online Resources

DESCRIPTION: Participants will look at using iTunes to organize digital content for use in their classrooms. We will spend time using the iTunes Store to find grade appropriate content in the Podcast Directory and iTunesU courses and collections. We will also explore the iTunesU course manger interface for creating your own courses.
REQUIREMENTS: You will need to have iPad with iOS 7 and iTunesU app. Also bring your Mac laptop if you have one.

DESCRIPTION: Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of creating interactive content and publishing with iBooks Author, focusing on best practices for engagement and learning.
REQUIREMENTS: Mac OS X computer with OS 10.7 or higher, iBooks Author (requires OS X Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks), iPad with latest version of iOS and the latest version of iBooks, syncing cable
(Note: if using Mavericks, then the iPad is optional as iBooks can be used on the Mac with OS 10.9)

DESCRIPTION: Come learn more about Apple’s sharing and collaboration tools: FaceTime, Messages, AirDrop and iWork in the Cloud. You need a personal Apple ID and you can explore how these tools help you communicate and collaborate both personally and in your classroom.
REQUIREMENTS: Mac with latest version of OS X and/or iPad with latest version of iOS, personal Apple ID (user name and password)

DESCRIPTION: Participants will learn how to use Numbers as a tool for teaching and learning. Participants will gain fundamental skills with Numbers by creating basic spreadsheets, charts and graphs, and a data collection project.
REQUIREMENTS: Mac with latest version of OS X, iPad with latest version of iOS, Numbers for Mac, Numbers for iOS
